Position Summary:Â
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Neurosurgical team. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in all aspects of Neurosurgery including inpatient, outpatient, and in the operating room, and will work collaboratively with our current team of 2 Neurosurgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Providers as well as other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
Conduct comprehensive Neurosurgical assessments including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic studies.Â
Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-up visits.Â
Conduct pre-operative and post-operative visits Â
Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing Â
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physiciansÂ
Provide patient education on conservative management, operative planning, and pre- and post-operative instructionsÂ
Assist with hospital rounding, new consults, and discharge planning (if applicable)Â
Participate in care coordination with other providers and specialties. Â
Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record Â
Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards. Â
First assist in the Operating Room for Neurosurgical patientsÂ
Assist with call coverage. Â
Qualifications:Â
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner ProgramÂ
National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant.Â
Â
Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida. Â
Â
Preferred Skills:Â
2+ years of Neurosurgical experience, including first assist in the operating room.Â
Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record a plusÂ
