Here鈥檚 What You Need

Education

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Other Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology required Or

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Associate's Degree preferred

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Other- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

Experience

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽1 year radiologic technician experience w/out ARRT-CT required or

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽no experience w/ARRT-CT required

Licenses and Certifications

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R upon hire required And

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT (w/no radiology technician exp) upon hire required Or

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CT (w/1 year radiology technician exp) 12 months required And

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (Either by the TDH or TMB) upon hire required And

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

What You Will Do

Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Maintains attention to details

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed and 聽 utilizes proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS / RIS

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Prints laser images from modality or PACS

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Coordinates with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities

Patient Care

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Assesses and recognizes the patient's emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Obtains patient history

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Communicates respectfully with co-workers and other departments

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Adjusts technical factors

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Operates, cares for and maintains equipment

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, tabletops, floors)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Stocks supplies daily

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Exchanges and maintenance of film badges within designated time frames

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Productive during periods of decreased work flow

Professional Accountability and Partnership

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email in a timely manner
