Overview

Cummings Electrical is hiring for an Electrical Assessor for our office in Fort Worth, TX. 

 

Great opportunity for a licensed electrician to join the training team in facilitating a hands-on assessment for new hires and existing employees. The assessment is conducted in a simulated work environment and is used to determine technical skill ratings required for employment and promotion for various field levels. This person will be responsible for documenting assessment outcomes, offering ongoing support, and recommending additional training and development when needed.

 

Since this process is a vital part of hiring our future workforce, we are looking for candidates who are willing to share their knowledge, skills, and best practices with other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assess electrical candidates on a range of technical skills that are necessary to perform safely and efficiently in the field.
  • Determine employability and document appropriate recommendations addressing specific training needs or additional learning for onboarding
  • Provide mentoring, information, advice and guidance to help recruit perspective candidates
  • Work efficiently and effectively to assist in the success of meeting company workforce demands
  • Carry out all necessary tests and assessments in due time and keep accurate and up-to-date assessment records as required
  • Assess and verify (where appropriate) provisions to enable candidates to successfully achieve qualification in a timely manner
  • Accurately identify skill and competence that meet company standards at all levels
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are maintained in a safe and correct working order, and that safe working practices and procedures are followed in the use of such
  • Advise on the maintenance, repair and replacement of tools and equipment
  • Take an active interest and involvement in Health and Safety matters, and act to ensure policies and procedures are known, implemented and adhered to
  • Undertake associated organizational/administrative work associated with each candidate, and any other duties consistent with this role
  • Can acquire new or additional knowledge, skills, and competence, as required to meet the needs for this position

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Electrical Journeyman license
  • Minimum 10 years documented electrical field work in the commercial industry
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills demonstrated in all types of telephone/face to face contact
  • Collaborative style with decisive, results-oriented approach
  • The ability to develop relationships (internal and external)
  • Impeccable integrity, high work standards and problem-solving skills are a must
  • Good organization and administration skills
  • Ability to promote and deliver excellent customer service
  • Ability to work flexibly to respond to changing priorities with a “can do” attitude
  • Strong computer skills and adept at learning new software
