Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | PRN | Acute Inpatient | 1800 Park Place, Fort Worth, TX 76110

We’re looking for a patient-centered clinician who values quality care, collaboration, and the opportunity to work with an adult and geriatric population in an acute inpatient setting.

This PRN SLP position serves Baylor Surgical Hospital in Fort Worth, a 32-bed inpatient facility. The caseload is approximately 1–2 visits per month, with flexible scheduling. You’ll evaluate and treat adult and geriatric patients, including individuals recovering from elective surgeries and Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF). Clinical needs may include dysphagia, feeding and swallowing, Modified Barium Swallow (MBS), dysarthria, articulation, memory, and cognitive impairments.

Your Role

  • Evaluate and treat adult and geriatric patients in an acute inpatient setting.
  • Develop individualized, patient-centered speech therapy treatment plans.
  • Assess and treat dysphagia, feeding and swallowing disorders, dysarthria, articulation, and cognitive-communication impairments.
  • Support patients recovering from elective surgical procedures, including ACDF.
  • Perform or support Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) services when appropriately qualified.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, effective patient outcomes.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Work independently while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent accredited program.
  • Current Texas Speech-Language Pathologist licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Modified Barium Swallow certification/experience is a plus.
  • Acute inpatient Speech-Language Pathology experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in an acute inpatient environment.
  • Comfortable treating adult and geriatric patients.
  • PRN position with approximately 1–2 visits per month.
