About the Role:

The FV Shipping- CDL position is a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations within Schuylkill County. The primary objective is to operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the integrity of the cargo. This role demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards to minimize risks on the road. The successful candidate will collaborate with dispatchers and logistics teams to optimize routes and schedules, contributing to overall operational efficiency. Ultimately, this position plays a vital part in supporting the supply chain by ensuring that products reach their destinations reliably and on time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class being operated.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past three years.
  • Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
  • Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
  • Experience operating commercial vehicles safely in a professional capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in freight or logistics transportation, particularly within the shipping industry.
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle delivery-related inquiries professionally.
  • Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
  • Load and unload freight as necessary, ensuring cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records using electronic logging devices (ELDs) or paper logs as required.
