Hours per Week (Max 20): Varies based on demand; up to 20 hours per week


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group tutoring in assigned subject areas.
  • Explain course concepts, model effective study strategies, and help students strengthen problem-solving and independent learning skills.
  • Prepare for tutoring sessions by reviewing relevant course materials and identifying appropriate learning resources.
  • Maintain accurate tutoring schedules, attendance records, session notes, and other required documentation.
  • Refer students to the supervisor or appropriate campus resources when needs extend beyond the tutor's role.
  • Protect student privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with University policies and FERPA requirements.
  • Help set up and reset the Center for meetings, workshops, guest speakers, tutoring sessions, and special events.
  • Assist with greeting visitors, answering routine questions, and creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment.
  • Help maintain the Center's organization, cleanliness, supplies, technology, and learning materials; promptly report concerns or equipment problems.
  • Attend required training and staff meetings, communicate scheduling conflicts promptly, and complete other Center-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and remain in good academic standing.
  • Must have completed at least 30 college credit hours.

  • Basic ability to use email, Microsoft Office, learning-management systems, and other technology used by the Center.
