About the Opportunity
The Cook is responsible for providing efficient, timely, and friendly dining service to residents and team members while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This position prepares and serves meals, follows recipes and dietary requirements, assists with inventory management, and helps create a positive dining experience that meets or exceeds resident expectations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about providing exceptional service through nutritious and appealing meals.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as assigned.
- Follow recipes and production guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
- Maintain proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with community, state, and local food safety regulations.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating food inventory.
- Prepare meals according to resident dietary needs and restrictions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Food Service Director and other team members.
- Promote resident satisfaction through professional and courteous service.
- Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Knowledge of special dietary needs and meal preparation techniques.

- Knowledge of and compliance with community quality standards and requirements.
- Ability to perform short-order cooking.

Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of cooking experience, including quantity cooking and short-order cooking preferred.
- ServSafe Certification required.
- Previous experience in senior living, assisted living, healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant settings preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong customer service skills and commitment to resident satisfaction.
- Required CBRF Certifications: Standard Precautions, First Aid & Choking, and Fire Safety
- Strong commitment to resident safety, food quality, and exceptional service.
