The Server will be responsible for leading the guest experience while providing 5-star dining service in our signature, Michelin Green Star restaurant, January.
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Provide an immersive well-curated dining experience to our guests by highlighting our seed to table operationÂ
- Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen and bar using the hotel’s point-of-sales system, coordinate food and beverage timingsÂ
- Anticipate guest needsÂ
- Provide Gueridon tableside cooking and training presentationsÂ
- Attend bar and wine service trainingÂ
- Maintain an active understanding of front of house and back of house proceduresÂ
- Coordinate with culinary team’s daily and weekly changes and requestsÂ
- Perform new staff mentoring, training, providing insight and directionÂ
- Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructedÂ
- Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials in order to answer questions and make recommendations to customersÂ
- Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings in person in order to enhance communications and knowledge of products, service and facilityÂ
- Remain attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as established by the property at all timesÂ
- Present a clean and professional appearance at all timesÂ
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
- Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; room charges, properly settle voided checks or complimentary mealsÂ
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisorsÂ
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Southall LeadershipÂ
Requirements
- Restaurant hospitality experience; fine dining service experience preferred
- Strong team leadership and organizational skillsÂ
- Food, wine, and liquor knowledgeÂ
- Comprehension of the reservation process
- Excellent communication skillsÂ
- Attention to detailÂ
- Strong problem-solving skillsÂ
- High School DiplomaÂ
- Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs.Â
- Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidaysÂ
- Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods as needed and able to work in all weather conditionsÂ
