Job DetailsJob Location: PMC-Fredericksburg Corps - Fredericksburg, VA 22401Position Type: Part Time less than 20Job Category: Child CareThis position is responsible for:   Responsible for providing age-appropriate care for infants in a nursery which includes: feeding, changing diapers and clothes, interacting with and playing with babies; and maintaining a hygienic and safe environment..   Key Responsibilities:   Prepares babies' food and feeds babies in accordance with diet established by the parents. Changes babies diapers and ensures babies are clean before applying a fresh diaper.   Changes babies’ clothes as needed to ensure their comfort and personal hygiene. Washes babies’ hands and face to ensure they are clean. Changes crib sheets and cleans babies’ bottles   Monitors all babies’ behavior and activities in a constant manner ensuring their health and safety. Teaches babies basic learning skills. Reads stories and sings to babies.   Ensures the nursery is maintained in a safe and clean manner. Builds and maintains effective and positive relationships with parents.    Responds to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner; and notifies Child Care Administrator of any problems or incidents.     Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:   Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies and equipment. Required to grasp objects, push and pull objects, bend, stand, walk, squat or kneel. Moderate to high mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.   Work is performed in a combination of office and field settings. Frequently required to sit and reach; and must be able to move around the work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work will typically be indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office or location, with a mixture of natural, incandescent and fluorescent light with moderate noise levels or be subject to working conditions. Work may require performance of duties where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible. Use of a computer is required; and the ability to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities is required. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU High School diploma or G.E.D AND   Two years’ experience caring for babies with at least one-year experience working in a nursery; OR   Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.     Licenses and Certifications: None.   Equal Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
