Expected Outcomes and Requirements: Gateway is hiring a Field Engineer to assist in building and maintaining our network expansion efforts in support of Gateway’s growth trajectory of adding 100,000 residential & business passings per year. The Field Engineer is expected to contribute in the following significant ways: Manage all physical connectivity of equipment in Central Offices and Active Cabinets. Complete installation of server racks and cabinets. Install optical transceivers and fiber optic jumpers. Work cross-functionally to determine connectivity requirements for different departments. Complete equipment racking and grounding to design specifications. Perform cable continuity testing and troubleshoot any issues. Perform equipment and hardware testing and turn-up and verify appropriate status. Install, add, and remove batteries per design specifications and life cycle needs. Provide knowledge and input regarding network engineering and design capabilities. What's in it for you? QualificationsThe successful candidate will bring the following to the table: 10+ Years of Field Engineer experience. 3+ Years of Telecom Experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Complex problem-solving skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to multi-task. Strong follow-up skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills, including positive phone demeanor. Proficiency (MS Office-Word, Excel, Outlook). High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to walk, stand, and sit for varying lengths of time throughout a day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
