About the RoleĀ 

To support U.S Urology Partners by assisting with routine lab procedures and collection of specimens.Ā Ā Ā 

What You’ll Be DoingĀ 

  • Maintains timely flow of patientsĀ 

  • Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination.Ā  Takes and documents patient histories including medications and drug allergies, height, weight, blood pressure, and pulseĀ 

  • Assists physicians with procedures and collection of specimensĀ 

  • Draws blood, collects urine samples, performs office lab procedures and documents results, and coordinates all specimen requests and reports to and from various laboratories.Ā  Pull charts for lab reports to be reviewed and signed by physiciansĀ 

  • Cleans and sterilizes equipment.Ā  Performs quality control measures and documentation.Ā  Prepares and replenishes supplies.Ā  Maintains inventoryĀ 

  • Instructs patient regarding preparation for tests.Ā  Provides information and pamphlets Requests and assists with formal consent when requiredĀ 

  • Receives and organizes the handling of medication samples, checks expiration dates and disposes outdated medications accordinglyĀ 

  • Disposes of contaminated and disposable itemsĀ 

  • Mails normal PSA result and annual exam reminder cardsĀ 

  • Attends required meetingsĀ 

  • Participates in professional development activitiesĀ 

  • Maintains strictest confidentialityĀ 

  • Performs other duties as assignedĀ

What We Expect of YouĀ 

Ā 

  • One year of medical assistant experience in a medical practice settingĀ Ā 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsĀ

Reasoning AbilityĀ Ā 

Ā 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ā
