About the Opportunity
Do you love working with babies and helping them reach their earliest developmental milestones?
The Learning Experience - Gainesville is hiring an experienced Infant Teacher to create a warm, responsive classroom where our youngest learners feel safe, loved, and supported.
We're looking for a nurturing educator who understands infant development, enjoys building trusting relationships with families, and takes pride in providing attentive, individualized care.
From tummy time and sensory exploration to first sounds and movements, you'll help babies develop confidence, curiosity, and important early learning skills.
What You'll Do
- Provide responsive, individualized care for infants throughout the school day
- Support feeding, diapering, safe sleep, tummy time, and daily care routines
- Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum through age-appropriate learning experiences
- Engage infants through sensory play, music, movement, early language, and exploration
- Support physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development
- Observe developmental milestones and maintain classroom documentation
- Maintain consistent routines that support each infant's individual needs
- Build trusting relationships and communicate regularly with families
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to maintain a nurturing classroom environment
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming infant classroom
- Follow Virginia childcare licensing, health, safety, and infant care requirements
Qualifications
- Previous professional experience working with infants in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting required
- Strong understanding of infant development, responsive caregiving, and safe sleep practices
- Experience supporting infant care routines and age-appropriate developmental activities
- Patient, nurturing, dependable, and attentive to individual needs
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Must meet applicable Virginia childcare licensing, background screening, and regulatory requirements
