Galveston College is a comprehensive community college located on Galveston Island, just 40 miles south of Houston, Texas. Duties:
- Assists faculty and students in the installation and programming of lighting fixtures for Theater Department productions.
- Assists faculty and students in the installation of sound equipment, including speakers, amplifiers, mixers and input devices, for Theater Department productions.
- Assists faculty and students in the construction of scenic elements requiring carpentry.
- Cleans and performs maintenance on theater lighting and sound equipment.
- Assists with inventory and equipment maintenance. Performs related duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- Methods and procedures of preparing for theatrical production
- Equipment and materials used in theatrical production
- Lighting control equipment
- Audio control equipment
- Operate the power tools commonly used in stage carpentry
- Ability to work independently
- Common carpentry tools
- Management, organizational and supervisory skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrate or indicate the proper use of all equipment used by the Theater Department;
- Demonstrate knowledge on how to install and operate a ETC light board.
- Demonstrate knowledge on how install and operate a digital mixing board
- A.A. degree in Theater or related field
