We’re currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Technician/CNC Programmer on 1st shift. 


Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician shall support the business in areas of new product development; process improvement; daily production support; as assigned, project manage key programs or operations: analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create operations sheets(DPP’s), tools and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.


Typical processes include: milling, lathe operation, CNC Programming, dimensional and visual inspection techniques.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible with available machines
  • Specifies, designs and/or procures special tooling or equipment required to attain product per customer requirement within budgeted cost and time. 
  • Programs CNC machines to effectively and efficiently produce desired product.
  • Complete the departmental process plans (DPP) process per ISO/AS requirements for outgoing and returned.
  • Set up and prove out programmed piece parts or communicate all aspects of the job to the set-up person for maximum quality and efficiency.
  • Participate in the company corrective action process where required
  • Analyze and resolve machining and tooling issues to avoid problems
  • Create new or modify existing manufacturing drawings using CAD methodology
  • Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times.
  • Alert the Engineering Team Lead and General Manager when programs do not meet cycle times per routing that was quoted
  • While programming jobs, notify Engineering Team Lead of any special gauging needs before the job is scheduled. 
  • Comply with all company policies/procedures
  • Comply with all military and contractual requirements

Requirements

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Mastercam, Featurecam
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Basic understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Basic understanding of concepts related to typical manufacturing systems such as kitting, batch sizing, configuration control and workflow routings.

Qualifications: 

Education: Associate’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience 

Experience and/or Training: Experience as a Machinist/Mastercam Programmer for Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centers. 7+ years of manufacturing preferred.

Technology/Equipment: Microsoft Office Suite, CAD Software
