About the KiDsProject

YRGMERF, in partnership with Sanofi, is implementing the KiDS (Kids andDiabetes in Schools) programme among government school students aged 10–15years in Uttar Pradesh. The programme builds diabetes awareness and preventionliteracy through teacher training, student engagement, community outreach, andsocial media. The internationally validated KiDS manual, adapted into the locallanguage, is used as the core training resource, with qualifiedendocrinologists serving as master trainers.

The first two phases of the programme, launched in 2024, have yieldeddocumented outcomes. The current phase involves expansion to 17 districtsacross UP, including aspirational districts and those requiring refreshertraining.

RoleOverview

The Field Officer is the frontline member of the KiDS project team,responsible for direct engagement with schools, teachers, students, parents,and communities in the assigned districts. The role reports to the District Coordinatoror Programme Manager and requires consistent field presence and strongcommunity engagement skills.

KeyResponsibilities

Field Implementation

• Facilitate teacher training sessions using the KiDSmanual in assigned schools.
  
• Support trained teachers in conducting diabetesawareness sessions with students.
  
• Organise and facilitate parent-teacher meetings inproject schools.
  
• Map the communities linked to each project schooland conduct community awareness meetings.
  
• Identify and support diabetes ambassadors withincommunities who can sustain awareness efforts beyond the project period.
  

Documentation and Reporting

• Document all field activities systematically andcompile data for submission to the District Coordinator / Programme Manager.
  
• Provide field data and inputs for programme reportsin coordination with the M&E Officer.
  
• Maintain complete records of referrals to healthfacilities, forms, and related documentation.
  

Travel

• Therole requires approximately 20 days of field travel per month. Travel andlogistics support will be provided under the project.
  

Requirements

Qualifications& Skills

• Post-graduation in Home Science, Nutrition, SocialSciences, or a related discipline.
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience in development,health, education, or nutrition programmes at the district level.
  
• Working knowledge of the education departmentsystem in UP is required.
  
• Proficiency in MS Excel for data entry andreporting.
  
• Strong written and oral communication skills inHindi and English.
  
• Self-motivated,with the ability to work independently in field settings with minimalsupervision.
