The community you’ll be working with: UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks Alternative School, Grades 3-12
The role you’ll contribute:
Develops and implements art therapy treatment plans and teaches art classes to students in grades 3 through 12 in alternative school setting
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Teaches art classes to students in grades 3 through 12.Â
- Conducts student assessments to identify emotional and psychological needs.
- Develops individualized art therapy treatment plans based on student assessments.
- Creates and facilitates art therapy sessions tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers to integrate art therapy into the overall treatment plan.
- Monitors and evaluates student progress during art therapy sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adjusts treatment plans as necessary based on student progress and feedback.
- Coordinates therapeutic art activities for both individual and group sessions.
- Observes and documents student responses to art therapy interventions.
- Encourages student socialization and expression through art activities.
- Provides students with information regarding resources and therapeutic art activities in the community.
- Maintains detailed records of student assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss student care and treatment outcomes.Â
The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's Required
- Master's Preferred
- Work Experience Required
- Registered Art Therapist (ATR) Required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Preferred  Â
