JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Director of Assisted Living, the Activity Coordinator will coordinate and provide a variety of activities for the residents.  The Activity Coordinator will plan, document, and lead the activities.  The programs will meet social, spiritual, mental, and physical needs of the residents to maintain a good quality of life.

 PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY

The Activity Coordinator will report to the Director of Assisted Living.  The Activity Coordinator will possess a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill, and/or disabled persons. Must be able to fluently communicate in or to take or give direction or guidance in the English language.

 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.     Regular attendance is considered an essential function of this position and is necessary for the efficient operation of the business

2.     Plans, coordinates, implements and assists residents with group and/or individual activities.

3.     Is responsible to track expenses and remain within budget for activities and supplies.

4.     Provides activity documentation according to established policies.

5.     Provides a monthly calendar of events.

6.     Provides supplies for activities

7.     Have knowledge of resident needs.  Obtains residents past and current interests and assesses functional levels.

8.     Participates in Resident Service Plan meetings and ensures that direct care staff are provided with information related to activities.

9.     Provides one-on-one programs to meet individual needs according to service plans.

10.  Engages caregivers in areas of activities.

11.  Establishes and maintains rapport with staff, residents and families.

12.  Performs other related duties as assigned.
