SCREEN MAKER

SUMMARY: 

            

The primary function is to maintain the screens used in the screen-printing process by performing the following duties:

DUTIES:

    • Prepare and apply photo emulsion to screens; position film positives and burn-in image(s) using Polycop; wash out excess emulsion
    • Tape and block-out perimeter of screen; check screen for pinholes on light table and repair as needed
    • Process screens for reclaim with stripping solutions to remove emulsion. Use high pressure washer to remove all chemicals and residue
    • Assemble screens using the appropriate mesh and frame size needed for production runs
    • Check all finished work for accuracy and quality standards
    • Communicate any irregularities with printer or assistant printer
    • Move the finished product to other areas of the department
    • Coordinates and/or works with other department personnel
    • Maintain a clean work area
    • Performs other duties as directed by Supervisor or department lead

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be fluent in English


SPECIAL SKILLS / ABILITIES:  Must possess the following skills:

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables and standardized situations.
