  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of young children's developmental, social, and emotional needs.
  • Encourage problem-solving skills in a creative and supportive manner.

Instruction & Student Growth

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that align with curricular objectives and student needs.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying abilities, collaborating with parents and resource teachers to support exceptional learners.
  • Promote active participation through interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and engaging instructional methods.
  • Provide individual support and enrichment opportunities to challenge students at their own pace.

Classroom Management & Student Engagement

  • Maintain a structured yet flexible classroom environment that fosters respect, safety, and learning.
  • Implement positive, fair, and consistent classroom management strategies.
  • Create an inviting and organized learning space that enhances student engagement.
  • Use varied assessment methods to gauge student understanding and progress.

Communication & Parent Partnership 

  • Regularly communicate with parents through newsletters, progress updates, and timely feedback.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, assignments, and classroom activities.
  • Foster positive and respectful interactions with students, parents, and colleagues, modeling Christ-like love and encouragement.

Requirements

Physical Requirements 

  • Use a computer (visual and keyboarding) for long periods. 
  • Able to remain stationary (sitting or standing) 50% of the time. 
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. 
  • At times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing stairs (2-story). 
  • Use hands, fingers, and arms to reach, grip, and maneuver objects. 
  • Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms). 
  • Work in noisy and crowded school environments. 
  • Frequent walking throughout the campus.
