Job Summary Â
Technician providing EEG testing services. Performs Neurophysiological monitoring in the hospital to assist the functional integrity of the peripheral and/or central nervous system. Modalities monitored by the technician include, but not limited electroencephalogram electromyography, auditing evoked potentials, cerebral death evaluation, nerve conduction, intraoperative neurophysiology testing, somato sensory evoked potentials, and visual evoked potentials.Â
Responsibilities
- Performs all neurophysiology laboratory procedures within the guidelines of departmental policies and procedures.Â
- Monitors and communicates information to the surgeon anesthesiologist during the surgical procedure being performed.Â
- Records, charts and assists with financial expectationsÂ
- Reports the effects of different anesthesia regimens on the waveforms being recorded.Â
- Reports surgical instrumentation on electrical safety Â
- Reports the effects of OR instrumentation on the quality of the neurodiagnostic recording during surgery.Â
- Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assignedÂ
Qualifications
- Special SkillsÂ
- Excellent customer service skills.Â
- Minimum Requirements Â
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.Â
- Experience: 1 year in a healthcare environment.Â
- Licensure/Certification: CPRÂ
- Preferred Requirements:Â
- Experience: Three years exp. in clinical neurophysiological testing. A minimum of 1 year experience monitoring END procedures or under the supervision of a qualified NeurophysiologistÂ
