The successful candidate:

***This is a PRN role- daytime shift (6:30AM usual start time but can vary). 12-16 hrs per week w/ Call expectation for nights, weekends & holidays. Example shift(s): 1 12-hour shift OR 2 8-hour shifts/week.***

Surgical Technologists are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. Sr. Surgical technologists work under the supervision of a surgeon and circulating RN to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Sr. Surgical technologists are individuals with specialized education who function as members of the surgical team in the role of scrub person.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalency

Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist Training program

Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified

Special Skills:

Possesses a thorough working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, instruments, suture material, power, specialty equipment, medication and supply terminology
