💡 ABOUT ENGAGE STUDIOS

Engage Studios is a Swedish partner for creative, engineering and production services. We connect skilled specialists with exciting assignments for clients developing the products and experiences of tomorrow.

💼 WE OFFER

  • A longterm, full-time assignment as a Lighting Studio Engineer

  • The opportunity to be the voice of design within engineering for exterior and interior lighting

  • A hands-on studio role bridging design intent and technical feasibility

  • The chance to shape competitive lighting solutions for next-generation vehicles

🔦 JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Lighting Studio Engineer to support our client in a design studio environment on the west coast of Sweden.

You will act as the bridge between design and engineering for exterior and interior lighting — communicating design intents and needs within engineering, translating engineering and legislative requirements into design possibilities, and generating feasible solutions for technically challenging areas. You will set up new light concepts in Catia and optical software, benchmark competitive lighting solutions, support tech scouting and supplier workshops, and document feasibility of design themes while raising critical issues early.

✅ REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep lamp technology, engineering and legal-requirement knowledge for automotive lighting

  • Automotive product concept and component design experience in exterior and/or interior lighting

  • Very good Catia and Teamcenter experience (solid and surface; Teamcenter Author)

  • Technical university degree or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience in the automotive industry

  • Extensive automotive lamp concept engineering experience with an appreciation for aesthetic challenges

  • Understanding of engineering and validation processes for vehicle components and systems

  • Working knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements and lead times

  • Experience supporting development of physical lamp prototypes to assess lighting concepts

  • Fluency in English

  • Ability to travel to China on occasion (and confirm no issues obtaining a Chinese travel visa)

  • Availability for a full-time, longterm assignment

  • Ability to work onsite in a studio on the west coast of Sweden

👤 YOUR PROFILE

You communicate clearly across design and engineering, take a leading role when needed, and deliver feasible technical solutions that protect design intent. Experience working in a design studio is highly merited; optical software experience (SPEOS, Lucidshape or LightTools) and Mandarin are advantages.

📍 PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT

Onsite in a studio on the west coast of Sweden. Occasional travel to China may be required.

ℹ️ OTHER

  • One full-time position, 100%

  • Travel to China on occasion is part of the assignment

  • No on-call duty is expected
