Job Summary

A housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and organized environment. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize rooms, hallways, offices, mill bathrooms, scale houses or assigned areas
Dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
Vacuum carpets and mop floors
Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors
Dispose of trash and recyclables properly
Restock supplies such as toiletries, soap, and paper products
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards
Follow health and safety regulations
Handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely

Skills and Qualifications

Attention to detail and cleanliness
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Good time management skills
Physical stamina (standing, bending, lifting)
Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment
Communication skills (basic level)
Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (preferred but not always required)

Working Conditions

May involve long hours on feet
Exposure to heat, cold and rain
Exposure to cleaning chemicals
Work in shifts, including weekends or holidays

Safety

Follow all area/machine center specific safety regulations
Wear all required personal protective equipment: hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc…as required
Do not enter restricted areas
Follow all other safety regulations as set forth by the company
