How You Will Make An Impact
- Own electrical system design activities for air-cooled data center chiller equipment, including main and auxiliary control panels.
- Translate customer and product requirements into production-ready electrical designs.
- Design electrical panels, wire harnesses, wiring schematics, and electrical load calculations.
- Select and qualify electrical and electromechanical components, including transformers, circuit breakers, contactors, overloads, VFDs, sensors, and control electronics.
- Develop electrical schematics using AutoCAD and/or Creo Schematics and support integration with broader product designs.
- Lead design projects across multiple engineering and product teams, balancing technical requirements, schedules, safety, quality, and manufacturability.
- Plan and oversee product validation and qualification testing and drive root-cause investigations for quality and reliability issues.
- Interpret and apply applicable electrical, product safety, and regulatory standards before designs are released to production.
- Provide technical leadership to designers, technicians, manufacturing teams, field service, technical support, and order fulfillment.
- Identify opportunities to improve electrical quality, reliability, productivity, and product efficiency.
Requirements
Do You Have the Expertise to Lead in Electrical Product Design and Controls?
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- 7–10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Strong experience designing electrical control panels and industrial equipment electrical systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring, load calculations, component selection, and control-system integration.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical and product safety requirements such as UL/CSA 1995, UL 60335, UL 508/508A, NEC, ANSI Z21.47, and ASHRAE 90.1.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo Schematics.
- Ability to lead engineering projects and coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary product teams.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, root-cause, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to take designs through validation and ultimately support production release.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to guide designers, technicians, and cross-functional partners.
- Experience with 2D/3D product design environments is valuable, with Creo experience highly desirable.
- Interest or experience in data center infrastructure, HVAC equipment, chillers, or other industrial electrical applications is highly valued.
