Job DetailsJob Location: PUTNAM COUNTY HOSPITAL - GREENCASTLE, IN 46135Job Shift: DayAuthorization Coordinator - Pain Clinic: Part Time We are currently seeking a friendly, highly motivated, and professional Certified Medical Assistant or experienced Secretary for our Pain Clinic located inside the Putnam County Hospital. This is a part time, day shift and benefit eligible position for 24 hours worked per week. The individual must possess the ability to multi-task a wide variety of duties efficiently and meet deadlines consistently. Certification is required for Medical Assistants and medical office experience is preferred for Secretary Applicants. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professionalism are a must. Primary responsibilities for this position include: - Registration and scheduling of clinic and OR patients in a timely and efficient manner - Main point of contact for all orders and authorizations and their processing within the   clinic - If an MA candidate, assist staff in providing patient care under the direction of the   Physician and nurse - Working directly with Physician and/or Nurse Practitioners routinely - Information exchange with external offices utilizing excellent customer service - Prioritize a wide variety of tasks, meet tight timeframes, adjust to unexpected or   unscheduled demands, and revise work accordingly - Continuously maintain and monitor schedules to ensure full daily appointment   utilization. - Triage of telephone calls and general front desk/clerical duties QualificationsExperience and Requirements Education High School diploma or equivalent An Office Administration, Office Technology or Secretarial Science Associate Degree, preferred Experience & Qualifications (required) Previous secretarial experience, preferably in a healthcare setting Able to manage multiple priorities effectively Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills Good communication and organizational skills Ability to take immediate action in serious situations Ability to read and follow instructions in English   Certified Medical Assistant, preferred not required
