Job DetailsJob Location: Greensboro Science Center - Greensboro, NC 27455Position Type: SeasonalSalary Range: $15.25 - $16.35The Event Operations Assistant Managers are responsible for assisting the Event Operations Manager with the night-to-night operational needs of the new GSC seasonal light show, Winter Wonderlights. This show opens to the public on November 13, 2026 and runs through January 3, 2027. Specific duties of the Winter Wonderlights Event Operations Assistant Manager include: Participating in planning meetings with the Winter Wonderlights GSC team in the last months leading up to the opening of the show. Assist in coordinating (scheduling) admissions, retail, and event staff. Assist with interviewing and hiring seasonal event staff. Assist with customer service by greeting guests, handling inquiries, providing information and assistance, and informing patrons of, and enforcing, rules and regulations. Assist in event staff training. Assist with resolving issues and elevating emergency situations through the proper channels as needed. Assist with carrying out additional duties as assigned by the Event Operations Manager. Manage night-to-night operations in the absence of the Event Operations Manager. Compose an EON (End of Night) report and email it to the Event Operations Manager on the nights is off duty. QualificationsEssential Job Requirements: Strong management and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public and the staff. Strong knowledge of the Greensboro Science Centers operations, policies and procedures. Ability and willingness to learn the general operational needs of the show. Ability and willingness to operate cash registers and handle cash accurately. Strength and dexterity are necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, standing for extended periods of time and bending. Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with large crowds. Ability and willingness to work in a variety of weather conditions. Ability and willingness to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks. Availability to work a variable work schedule; must be available evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
