Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:

To ensure the clinical excellence of CCBH’s continuum of care

  • Provide direct patient treatment that is ethically and medically appropriate.
  • Maintain and review patient medical services documents and records as necessary.
  • Participates in treatment planning, implementation and monitoring.
  • Provide coverage on-grounds according to schedule.
  • Share on-call schedule providing on-call 24 hours a day for patients and for responding to emergencies, admissions, and evaluations as necessary.
  • Maintain current credentials and continuing medical education..
  • Assists Utilization Review.
  • Complies with Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
  • Adheres to all Hospital policies.
  • Practices Service Excellence.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY:

Physician, MD or DO Degree, from an accredited School of Medicine; current license to practice in the state. Provides direct psychiatric care to patients. Has unrestricted DEA and State Controlled Substances registration. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability maintain confidentiality in regards to all information; skilled in flexibility, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills;, crisis management skills; skills in analysis and evaluation; sound clinical judgment and decision-making; able to understand and apply applicable standards and regulations (e.g. The Joint Commission, CMS, DHEC, etc.).

 

  1. Must be able to handle a wide range of emotional expression.
  2. Work well with all levels of staff.
  3. Work well with all clinical populations and pathologies.
  4. Must be able to work independently as well as being part of a team.
  5. Must be able to work well with multiple disciplines and treatment modalities.
  6. Must be able to work well with multiple outside community systems.
