Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will assist residents in improving function, increasing independence, and enhancing quality of life through individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Assist residents in improving performance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Implement treatment plans and therapeutic interventions designed to improve functional independence
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate updates to the Occupational Therapist
  • Document treatments, resident responses, and progress accurately and timely
  • Assist with discharge planning and caregiver education
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy team members, physicians, residents, and families
  • Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions as appropriate
  • Follow all facility policies, state regulations, and professional practice standards

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) and Casamba preferred
  • Ability to quickly learn facility software and documentation systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant license/certification in South Carolina
  • Must maintain all required continuing education requirements
  • Must remain in good standing with the applicable State Board
