Harris Center student staff oversee Harris Center daily operations and carry out daily tasks. Staff are responsible for Harris Center operations when the director or other appropriate student affairs administrative staff is not available. Staff report directly to the Director of Campus Center Operations & Student Activities.  A large part of the job is to be an ambassador for the College and the Harris Center. Staff are responsible for assisting with the security of the Harris Center, understand and perform opening and closing procedures, and emergency procedures regarding fire, evacuation, etc.
Staff will aid others in the overall use of the building and will also be required to provide technical services to those using the facility. This includes setting up and taking down chairs, tables, podiums, etc. in designated areas within the facilities; and understanding and providing audio and visual support for programs and activities throughout the facility. Staff are also responsible for operating concession areas during specified events, event/facility usage head counts, game room operations, checking restrooms and keeping trash picked up. Staff are expected to work morning, late night and weekend shifts.
Flexibility is necessary and expected. Periodically, staff are asked to cover special events and extended hours.

Qualifications

May require the ability to perform lifting, stooping, and/or extended standing; and a commitment to providing good customer service. May require critical thinking and decision-making skills and the ability to work with diverse
populations.
