Description

The Audiologist Aide will perform tasks that are planned, prescribed, delegated, directed and supervised by a licensed Audiologist. The Audiologist Aide will assist in instructing patients in proper use and care of hearing aids, and proper ear hygiene. Additionally, they will assist Audiologists in treatment programs.

OFFICE LOCATIONS:  Grove City (3 days) & Dublin (1 day)


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Providing follow up care for Tru Hearing patients.
  • Accept, inspect and repair hearing aids as permitted under Audiology Aide license.
  • Teach patients about proper hearing aid cleaning and care.
  • Enter detailed chart notes into TIMs describing all patient encounters.
  • Complete repair order forms and send all repairs to manufacturers.
  • Check new hearing aids and repaired hearing aid into TIMs as they arrive. Call patient to inform them that the hearing aid has returned and either schedule a follow up/PUR appointment or leave it at the front desk for patient pick up.
  • Inventory supplies and order more as needed.

WORK HOURS: 730a-430p

Onsite training provided. You must apply for licensure within 4 months of employment

Requirements

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must complete requirements of the Ohio Administrative Code chapter 4753-7 to be issued a license by the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word required.
  • Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Adheres to all HIPAA privacy and security regulations and guidelines
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • The job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position.
  • Knowledge of GE Centricity Practice Management software or TIMS for Audiology software beneficial but not required

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required & Audiology Aide License


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Occasionally required the full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires visual acuity. Minimal walking.
