Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Performs a variety of the more complicated tasks in support of the professional staff within the assigned unit. Work assignments may be in the office and/or at field sites. A willingness to travel and/or to relocate is expected. May act in a lead capacity in wastewater treatment operations and maintenance.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs non-routine and occasionally heavy labor tasks related to on-site industrial waster, hazardous waste, field environmental surveys or operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.
Collects samples and maintain documentation in record logs.
Operates trucks, pumps, vacuum equipment, oil booms, generators, and other machinery/equipment. Establishes and maintains appropriate logs of activities.
Tests, calibrates, repairs, and modifies control and instrumentation systems at on-site locations under general supervision. Some assignments are undertaken independently. May give some leadership and guidance to lower level Technicians.
Prepares required field and office reports of various activities and findings. May initiate reports and/or establish and maintain logs and records.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Supervision Received - Higher-level Technicians, Professional Staff
Supervision Given - Lower-level Technicians (technical guidance only)
Internal Contacts - All Employees on Project
External Contacts - Suppliers


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma, or equivalent, and typically 6+ years of related work experience, or a Associate's Degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience. Completion of a 40-hour OSHA training course (with an annual 8-hour update) is required for industrial or hazardous wastewater operations.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Competency in performing typical Technician assignments and responsibilities, as well as tasks and testing techniques related to operations.
