Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced C++ / Qt Engineer with strong expertise in modern C++ development, Qt/QML, and application-layer software engineering for safety-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software applications within complex embedded or medical device environments.

In this role, you will collaborate with software architects, system engineers, quality teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop scalable application-layer software for surgical robotics platforms. You will be responsible for designing integration layers, enhancing software architecture,optimising performance, and contributing to the development of mission-critical applications deployed in operating room environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain application-layer software using modern C++ and Qt/QML technologies
  • Develop scalable, high-performance software components for surgical robotics applications.
  • Design and implement integration layers between software modules and system components.
  • Contribute to software architecture improvements across large-scale C++ codebases.
  • Collaborate with system architects, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust software solutions.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and maintainability while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Support CI/CD implementation using GitLab and contribute to automated build, testing, and deployment processes
  • Utilize SonarQube and static code analysis tools to improve code quality, maintainability, and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions
  • Develop technical documentation, design specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Ensure compliance with software quality, regulatory, and safety standards applicable to medical device development


Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in C++ software development.
  • Strong expertise in Modern C++ (C++14/17/20) and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Qt Framework and Qt/QML application development.
  • Experience developing large-scale, modular, and maintainable C++ applications.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and integration frameworks.
  • Experience with Git, GitLab CI/CD, version control, and automated build pipelines.
  • Knowledge of SonarQube, static code analysis, and software quality best practices.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing software for medical devices, surgical robotics, healthcare, or othersafety-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with embedded software development and real-time systems.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle standards such as IEC 62304 or ISO 13485.
  • Exposure to Linux-based application development.
  • Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and continuous integration practices.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale software modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
