The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking a Lift Operations Supervisor to assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Lift Operations Department. This position provides leadership and support to Lead Lift Operators and Lift Operators across multiple lift areas, with responsibility for staffing, training, safety, guest service, and daily operations.

The Lift Operations Supervisor serves as a key support to the Lift Operations Manager and may act as Manager on Duty when needed. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee the daily operation of multiple lifts and provide direction to Lead Lift Operators and Lift Operators.
- Assist with daily staffing plans based on weather, guest volume, and operational needs.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and development of lift operations staff.
- Monitor lift operations to ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and resort expectations.
- Address operational concerns and serve as an escalation point for guest issues.
- Step into Lift Operator or Lead Lift Operator duties as needed to support daily operations.
- Review lift logs and daily reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate with Lift Maintenance, Ski Patrol, and management regarding equipment, conditions, and safety concerns.
- Assist with inventory and equipment needs throughout the Lift Operations Department.
- Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members in coordination with the Lift Operations Manager.
- Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Lift Operations Manager and make appropriate operational decisions.
- Operate a snowmobile as needed after completing required resort safety training and certification.
- Assist other departments as needed to support overall resort operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 1 year of leadership or relevant experience
- Previous lift operations, ski resort, outdoor recreation, or hospitality experience preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability required
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Safety-focused and able to make sound decisions
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working outdoors in winter weather
- Able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to perform physical work and lift up to 50 lbs.
