Job Title:Ā Field Service Technician I
Ā Description:
Ā A wireless communications company with advanced technology to address the nation’s first-responder interoperability crisis seeksĀ motivatedĀ field techniciansĀ to help design and deploy critical networks.

Radio/IP Network System Field Technicians are responsible for the implementation, deployment, and testing of Mutualink’s Interoperable Multimedia System. The ideal candidate will have baseline networking knowledge, a track record of customer-facing work, and a strong desire to learn. The position requires heavy travel.

Skills/Qualifications:
Ā IP Network (Highly Desired)

  • Understanding of the OSI Model (Layers 1-3), IP addressing, subnetting, and VLANs.

  • Experience with router and switch configuration is a huge plus.

  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA/CCST are strong plusses.

Radio (On-the-Job Training Available)

  • Basic understanding or willingness to learn public safety radio communication systems.

  • Familiarity with or interest in radio frequency theory, signal propagation, and antenna types.

  • Ability to use a multimeter to test voltage, continuity, and pin-outs on cables.

Video

  • Ability and willingness to learn Video setup (Digital Video Systems, Video Compression, Transcoding).

  • Basic knowledge of hardware installation (IP cameras, HDMI/VGA/DisplayPort inputs).

General & Physical

  • Education:Ā 2-year college degree preferred. Best fit disciplines: Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering Technology.

  • Communication:Ā Must be "customer-facing" ready to explain technical issues clearly to first responders.

  • Travel:Ā Willingness to travel 75%+ of the time. Valid Driver’s License and Passport required.

  • Physical Requirements:Ā Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and competent in using hand/power tools (drills, crimpers, wire strippers) for racking equipment.
