Job Summary:

At John F. Martin & Sons, we believe great products begin with great people. We are seeking a dependable, motivated individual to join our logistics sanitation team. In this role, you will help keep our refrigerated distribution warehouse clean, sanitary, organized, and safe while maintaining strict adherence to cold-chain food safety standards. Since this position operates entirely within multi-temperature zones (coolers and freezers), you must be comfortable working continuously in a cold-weather warehouse environment.

Essential Functions:

• Warehouse Sanitation: Clean, sanitize, and maintain warehouse inventory floors, storage racks, loading docks, and staging zones.
• Facility Housekeeping: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wash surfaces using both manual and powered equipment (such as floor scrubbers). Clean common areas, restrooms, hallways, and breakrooms as assigned.
• Waste & Spill Management: Safely respond to and clean up product spills. Empty trash receptacles, sort pallets, manage recycling, and move heavy waste carts to designated disposal areas.
• Chemical Safety: Properly dilute, handle, and apply cleaning chemicals and sanitizers in strict accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product labels, and company safety guidelines.
• Food Safety Compliance: Follow all established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination in a cold-storage and distribution setting.
• Cross-Departmental Support: Assist warehousing, receiving, and shipping departments with tasks when assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Age: Must be at least 18 years old to operate OSHA-regulated equipment.
• Education: No formal secondary education or high school diploma is required.
• Experience: Prior experience in warehouse sanitation, industrial cleaning, or a refrigerated logistics environment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of cold-chain food safety standards is highly valued.
• Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong reliability, consistent attendance, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Training: Must be willing to attend and complete required training in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), chemical handling, and warehouse safety equipment.

Salary Based on Experience - Starting at $17.00
