Description

Freed-Hardeman University is accepting applications for a future Adjunct Instructor position. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the Department Chair and/or Dean when openings become available. Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester basis.


Responsibilities of the Adjunct Instructor will include but not be limited to:

  • Teach the required/assigned course.
  • Evidence of knowledge and skills related to the teaching of adults.
  • Help develop, implement, evaluate and update the purpose, philosophy, objective and organizational framework of Freed-Hardeman University.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the assigned curriculum.
  • Provide academic guidance to students in collaboration with the chair/dean of the program.
  • Plan and provide theoretical instruction and clinical experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives and curriculum.
  • Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to the course, the discipline’s knowledge and practice.
  • Schedule time for classroom preparation.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Faithful member of the Church of Christ.
  • The expected minimum credentialing is a Master’s degree in the specified discipline, or Master’s degree in a related field that includes at least 18 hours of the specified discipline; however, a Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Preferred teaching experience on the college/university level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other faculty members, as well as students.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the requirements of the job description (listed above).
