Subsurface Utility Technician

As a Subsurface Utility Technician, you will be responsible for supporting SUE and utility mapping field operations using conventional, robotic, and GPS surveying equipment, along with completing daily field documentation. This is an immediate opportunity for a field professional to further their career within a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.

Responsibilities:

• Perform utility mapping and SUE field work using conventional, robotic, and GPS surveying methods, including static, fast static, RTK, and VRS.
• Operate Trimble data collection equipment, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations.
• Download and submit daily field data files.
• Prepare and organize field sketches and digital photographs.
• Complete daily checklists, timesheets, and vehicle navigation.

Qualifications:

• Land surveying experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of conventional, robotic, and GPS surveying functions, including static, fast static, RTK, and VRS.
• Experience with Trimble data collection, GPS receivers, and robotic total stations required.
• SUE and utility mapping experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, navigation programs, and Trimble Data Transfer a plus.
• Position includes out-of-town travel; meal per diem and lodging are provided.
• This position is subject to outdoor environmental conditions.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
