Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times, as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed and complied with uniformly in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
The purpose of the Loader is to supply the machines with flats of shell eggs, ensuring they never run out while keeping pace with production. Three loaders must supply the lines with flats of shell eggs. They should be able to lift and carry 6 flats of eggs at a time (approximately 20-30 lbs.) safely, ensuring that the lines never run out.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
â–ª Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
â–ª Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
â–ª Loaders constantly supply optiloader conveyors with flats of shell eggs, picking up 6 flats at a time safely from a nearby skid.
â–ª Remove and stack dividers or skid sheets (between the flats of eggs on the skid) in the designated area.
â–ª Remove and stack empty skids in the designated area.
â–ª Remove empty flats from the optiloader machine and stack them in the designated area.
â–ª Supply candlers with flats of fill-in eggs.
â–ª Assist in monitoring the optiloader machine to remove any jams.
â–ª Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
â–ª Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes positive working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
â–ª No prior experience or training.
â–ª Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
â–ª Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
â–ª Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
â–ª Ability to lift and move empty skids weighing up to 50 lbs. safely.
â–ª Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
â–ª Bending, stooping, and reaching while lifting, turning, and carrying approximately 20-30 lbs., or 6 flats of eggs.
â–ª Ability to follow verbal instructions.
â–ª Ability to work indoors in a wet, humid environment.
â–ª Ability to travel stairs.
â–ª Ability to work well with others and be a team player.
â–ª Driver's license.
â–ª Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety regulations for the area.
â–ª Wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job, including a bump cap, earplugs, and steel-toe boots.
â–ª Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.
