Lead Perioperative Excellence in a Growing Ambulatory Surgery Center


We're looking for an experienced nursing leader to oversee our Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Pre-Op, and PACU teams in a high-performing ambulatory surgery environment.

This is an opportunity to lead a collaborative clinical team where quality, patient experience, and operational excellence are at the center of everything we do. You'll partner closely with physicians and executive leadership to shape best practices, develop staff, and drive continuous improvement across the perioperative continuum.

What You'll Do

Lead Clinical Operations

  • Direct daily operations across PAT, Pre-Op, and PACU services.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care throughout the surgical journey.
  • Promote evidence-based nursing practice and adherence to AAAHC and AORN standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Build and Develop High-Performing Teams

  • Recruit, coach, and retain talented nursing professionals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing development support.
  • Create staffing plans that balance operational needs with employee engagement.

Drive Quality and Compliance

  • Maintain readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
  • Champion quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
  • Monitor documentation standards and clinical performance metrics.

Support Operational Excellence

  • Manage departmental resources, scheduling, and productivity.
  • Partner with leadership on budget stewardship and cost-effective operations.
  • Assist with supply, equipment, and inventory planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient experience, and team performance.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Current Virginia RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • 5+ years of nursing leadership experience in PACU, perioperative services, surgical services, or ambulatory surgery settings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) leadership experience
  • Knowledge of AAAHC accreditation standards
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary perioperative teams

Compensation Range for this position:

$110,400.00 - $165,600.00

Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
