Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: NC- Hickory (2) - Hickory, NC, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: First Shift, Job Category: Manufacturing, SUMMARYResponsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the transfer car.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperation and care of transfer car in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate thetransfer car.Complete and document a transfer car inspection form before start of shift and turn inmaintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity andspeed.Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule tomeet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining goodhousekeeping.Additional duties may be assigned by management.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED.Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.Prior work experience as a forklift operator.LANGUAGE SKILLSAble to read and follow instructions on factory masters.112MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAble to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amountssuch as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high schoolmath.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral,or graphic form.
