Job Overview:Â
The Landscape Irrigation & Lighting Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation and low-voltage landscape lighting systems. Technicians work independently or with other team members on-site, supporting new landscape installations and providing repair and maintenance services for client properties. The role requires technical expertise, efficiency, accuracy, and a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.Â

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation and landscape lighting systems.
- Activate and deactivate irrigation systems based on seasonal priorities or pre-established schedules.
- Program irrigation controllers to ensure proper watering of maintained landscapes.
- Gather and update historical data for each account, including water source, connection points, mainline locations, services performed, and parts installed.
- Accurately record and submit billing information for chargeable work performed.
- Purchase and maintain inventory of parts required for irrigation system repairs while adhering to cost control guidelines.
- Promote and maintain safe working conditions at all times.
- Ensure proper use, care, and inventory of company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Maintain a professional appearance, including wearing New Garden Landscaping and Nursery logoed apparel.
- Demonstrate “The New Garden Way” in all daily actions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience installing and troubleshooting lawn sprinkler systems.
- Energetic, professional, and capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and team members.
- Highly organized in all areas, including workspace, company vehicle, time management, and information management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Able to bend, kneel, lift 50+ lbs., and work in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable climbing and working from ladders.
