Department Description:

Recreation Services is a comprehensive approach to wellness, fellowship, and life-long fitness, that oversees the fitness center, group exercise, leisure activities, and intramural sports.  As a student employee, you will gain the experience of leadership and management while enhancing your critical thinking and communication skills.

Job Description:

Represent HPUREC with a positive, enthusiastic attitude while managing players and their surroundings during intramural sports.  Students will gain transferable job skills applicable in the real world through their HPUREC employment experiences such as leadership, communication, and persuasive skills.

Job Location/ Hours Required:

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in Slane and Intramural Fields. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage situations between opposing teams in a calm manner
  • Communicate the rules to all participants
  • Unbiasedly evaluate the performance of participants
  • Assist in set up and break down of the intramural event
  • Create a safe environment for students to enjoy intramural sports
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Applicants should have prior experience playing specific sports and previous refereeing experience is preferred.

  • Intramurals are played 5pm-12am Monday-Thursday
