Snow Cat Operator / Snow Making

Job Details: Job Location: Rocking Horse Ranch - Highland , NY, Salary Range: $26.00 - $29.00Hourly, Rocking Horse Ranch Resort is seeking a hands on, dependable Snow Cat/Heavy Equipment Operator  to join our team. You'll be responsible for running and maintaining our snowmaking system, including monitoring guns, pumps, compressors, hoses, and hydrants throughout each shift, and adjusting for changing temperatures, humidity, and wind. Diagnose and fix problems on the spot, often at night and in winter conditions. You will also operate our Sno-Cat grooming machines, helping to build and shape our ski and tubing areas. Must be mechanically inclined, comfortable working outdoors in winter conditions, and work independently and safely on overnight shifts. Prior snowmaking, heavy equipment, and/or mechanical experience is a must. We are open to part time or full time work availability. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down snow making equipment. Visually inspects equipment, performs equipment maintenance as requested (greasing machines, cleaning windshields, etc.). Safely and efficiently operates equipment to clear the property parking lots and walkways. Quickly and accurately reports and attempts to remedy problems with the equipment that may arise during operations. Assist team with maintenance, repairs and equipment changes. Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities. Assist in other areas of the Ranch property as needed.Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS Several years of operating experience with equipment used for snow removal Valid driver's license with no restrictions Available as weather demands High level of safety consciousness and awareness Ability to work hard in a cold environment for extended period of time Must be willing to work overnight shifts Regularly lift, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
