• Emergency department patient assessment and management

• Routine therapeutic and surgical procedures, as applicable
• Rapid Response and Code Team participation
• Cardiac stress testing supervision

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited university
• Certification: NCCPA certification required
• DEA: Current DEA certification required
• BLS: Required
• ACLS: Required
• PALS: Required for Emergency Department coverage
• NRP: Required for Emergency Department coverage
• ATLS: Required for Emergency Department coverage
• Experience: Minimum 3 years
• EMR: Meditech experience

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Obtain detailed patient histories and perform comprehensive examinations
• Diagnose conditions and initiate appropriate treatment or referrals
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Arrange admissions and discharges and perform hospital rounds as needed
• Communicate with and consult the on-call Emergency Department physician
• Respond to Rapid Response and Code Team activations as available
• Provide patient education and follow-up guidance
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records
• Practice within established scope, standards, and clinical privileges
