Summary:

The Smart Factory Engineer I, Equipment supports the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of smart factory systems within a highly automated manufacturing environment. This role focuses on improving equipment efficiency, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring system reliability through data analysis, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of Smart Factory systems, including Remote Operations, Autonomous Calibration, Product Traceability, and Preventative Maintenance
  • Participate in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and validation of system functionality and performance
  • Assist in reviewing, modifying, and optimizing systems using PLC (Siemens), Python, and C#
  • Analyze equipment performance metrics (OEE, downtime, yield) to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Support troubleshooting of equipment and system-related issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Assist in planning and executing strategies to improve equipment efficiency, availability, and automation capabilities
  • Support project management activities for Smart Factory initiatives, including scheduling, tracking progress, and coordinating deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, IT, Engineering) to deploy and sustain system improvements
  • Contribute to documentation development, including system procedures and operational standards
  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly reports on project progress, issues, and achievements
  • Participate in regular meetings with internal stakeholders and global headquarters to provide updates and align on priorities
  • Support communication and issue management related to Smart Factory systems
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience:

  • 0–3+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, IT systems, or engineering environments
  • Exposure to Smart Factory, automation systems, or equipment engineering preferred
  • Experience analyzing system or equipment performance data is a plus

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of PLC systems (Siemens preferred)
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or C#
  • Knowledge of network systems, IT infrastructure, or industrial automation
  • Exposure to data analytics or visualization tools is a plus
  • Comfortable working independently and with others
  • Results-oriented and perseverant
