Position Overview

Are you a skilled-trades professional with strong organizational and interpersonal skills that thrives on keeping complex projects moving? We are seeking a high-energy Tooling Coordinator to facilitate our internal tooling team. In this role, you will be the bridge between design, engineering, and manufacturing. You will be responsible for the master build schedule, set daily priorities for our talented internal build team, and ensure that new tooling is delivered on time to meet critical product launch dates.


Key Responsibilities

  • Master Scheduling: Create, maintain, and optimize the production schedule for all new internal tooling builds.
  • Priority Setting: Dynamic control of daily workflows to balance urgent design changes with long-term build goals.
  • Capacity Tracking: Monitor internal shop capacity, labor hours, and machine availability to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Facilitate regular collaboration meetings with engineering, production, and procurement teams to align on deadlines.
  • Progress Reporting: Track build milestones and proactively communicate risks or delays to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in a machine shop environment. Experience with project coordination or scheduling preferred.
  • Technical Savvy: Functional understanding of CNC Machining and Machine Tool equipment (mills, lathes, EDM). Strong computing skills and familiarity with manufacturing ERP software, project management tools, or advanced Excel scheduling.
  • Blueprints: Ability to read tooling prints and basic engineering document tracking.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to resolve scheduling conflicts under tight deadlines.
