Purpose Statement:聽聽
This position is responsible for coaching students at Sheridan Hills Christian School. The specific focus of this role is to provide quality coaching with a biblical perspective.聽聽 Full time position available with other duties.聽

Coaching Responsibilities:聽聽
1.聽STUDENT-ATHLETES聽聽
a. Provide devotion and/or prayer during each practice, with intentionality to lead athletes to grow in mind, spirit, and body. Remember our mission is to develop Christian growth and leadership.聽聽聽
b. Provide recommendations for off-season training and camps.聽聽聽
c. Manage the balance of developing fitness and skill with beginners.聽聽聽
d. Advise athletes in their pursuit of athletic goals.聽聽聽
e. Teach the basic skills and the more complicated skills of the sport.聽聽聽
2. PRACTICES聽聽聽
a. Develop and supervise regular practices in-season, unless games prevent it.聽聽聽
b. Work with A.D. to develop a practice schedule before the season begins.聽聽
c. Notify A.D. of any changes to the practice schedule at least 48 hours in advance. In case of cancellation due to emergency, the school office must be notified along with the A.D.聽聽聽
d. In cases of inclement weather, confer with A.D. about time change or cancellation.聽聽
e. Check practice facility/field before and after each practice for cleanliness and order.聽聽聽
f. Remain at facility/field at end of practices until all players have left.聽聽聽
3. GAMES聽聽聽
a. Dress professionally聽聽聽
b. Be present on campus for game-day early dismissals of student-athletes. Ensure athletes are dismissed in a timely and quiet manner.聽聽聽
c. Coordinate team pre-game activities/conduct and supervise pre-game warm-ups.聽聽聽
d. Coach during the game with intensity, encouragement, and professionalism. Your character will be remembered long after the score.聽聽聽
4. COMMUNICATION聽聽
a. Provide contact information (phone and email) to parents.聽聽聽
b. Communicate game times, locations, and expectations to student-athletes and
parents in a regular and timely manner.聽聽聽
c. Establish expectations with team captain(s) and players at the beginning of the season.聽聽聽
d. Have a聽Pre-season parent meeting聽聽
e. Attend the annual Athletic Banquet and professionally present team awards聽聽
5. ADMINISTRATION聽聽聽
a. Provide equipment/uniform requests to A.D. before the season.聽聽
聽b. Submit budget requests to A.D. for the following season.聽聽聽
c. Meet with A.D. regularly throughout the season and at the end of the season to evaluate performance and program needs.聽聽聽
REMUNERATION
- The coaching position receives a stipend at the end of the season.聽聽聽
