Description

Job purpose: The Mechanic- Set-up Operator is responsible for set-up, maintenance and repairing production equipment as needed.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare FlowMaster mail inserting equipment for daily production runs. 
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment to ensure accurate operation and high-quality finished mail pieces. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. 
  • Respond quickly to paper jams and other machine interruptions to keep production running smoothly. 
  • Configure machine settings based on job specifications, including feed type, speed, and print requirements. 
  • Monitor equipment performance during production and take immediate corrective action when issues arise. 
  • Partner with machine operators and production staff to diagnose equipment problems and implement effective solutions. 
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent 
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
