We currently have an opening for Facility Cleaner in our Dyco Electronics facility, located in Hornell, NY. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and general sanitation of the facility to support safe and efficient operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, and committed to maintaining high housekeeping and sanitation standards.
Part time 24 hours per week
Details of the Role:
The position of Facility Cleaner is responsible for routine cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep of office areas, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, production areas, and other facility spaces. During the course of a standard workday, you will be expected to perform scheduled cleaning duties, support special projects, and maintain a clean, safe environment for employees and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning of restrooms, including sanitizing fixtures, countertops, mirrors, and replenishing supplies.
- Clean and maintain breakrooms, cafeterias, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust office and facility spaces as assigned.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated collection areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of production support areas (non‑technical cleaning only).
- Clean glass surfaces, entryways, and high‑touch areas throughout the facility.
- Assist with light outdoor cleaning tasks such as clearing walkways or cleaning entry areas (site‑dependent).
- Notify supervisor of any cleaning supply shortages, safety hazards, or facility maintenance needs.
- Follow established schedules and cleaning checklists to ensure consistent coverage.
- Support special cleaning projects, seasonal deep cleaning, or event‑related cleaning as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety rules and use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to instructions.
- Perform other cleaning or sanitation duties as assigned.
Qualifying Attributes and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and cleaning procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself professionally in all facility areas.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment such as mops, vacuums, carts, and cleaning chemicals safely.
- Ability to work in various facility areas including office, production support, and common spaces.
