What will I be doing? 

ü Provide accurate, unbiased, and confidential information and enrollment assistance for Medicare and other public benefits programs, including recertification for the Medicare Savings Programs, Medicare Extra Help, and SNAP, primarily through telephone-based services.

ü Create and foster community partnerships to help reach older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout a 12-county region

ü Conduct outreach efforts, including health fairs, public speaking engagements, and enrollment events throughout the region

ü Recruit and support volunteers to assist with program activities

ü Complete data entry and required reports in a timely and accurate manner

 

Key Qualifications   

 

ü Knowledge of Human Services programs, legislation, and regulations, including public benefits and entitlement programs

ü Willingness to travel within a 12-county region

ü Availability for some evening and weekend events

ü Ability to engage in public speaking and community presentations

ü Ability to pass and maintain Texas HICAP certification

ü Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

 

Do you have…  

ü A degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study   

ü Less than 1 year of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school, or in job-related duties

Funding Notice: 

This position is grant-funded through the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and is funded through July 31, 2028 contingent upon continued grant support.
